need someone to look at a 240d in Santa Cruz/ San Jose area
hi, i'm looking for some one to look at a car in santa cruz/ san jose area. the car is a 1982 24d man. w/ 250k miles. i'm really interested and would like to act on the impulse before my wife finds out more about it ! please feel free to email me and i'll forward the name and phone number of the owner. also if there is a mechanic/shop that someone can recommend, that would be great too. i would like to get it inspected since this will be my first mb dies.

![/quote] That sounds funny, and I can relate to that!  I imagine this is the car he is referring to on craigs list.......Its on the San Fran bay area craigs list(cant get the link to post, sorry).

well, i don't have an address exactly. but the owner said he is in the mountains pretty much half way between san jose and santa cruz. the car is in craig's list in san francisco. '82 240d man 250k $3500.
he also teaches at san jose so that might be an option too. i'm thinking if it checks out with a "checker", then i'll fly out and drive her back to Minneapolis, MN, a good 2,000 miles.
