Power steering pump

Hi
My PS Pump has just sprung the mother of all leaks, the pump is a Z/F Part # 1164601780, Does this take the 19mm or 20mm seal.
Thanks

Pull the seal out and measure it or give the number to the MB parts guy and he will sell you a rebuild kit. The pumps are dead easy to get into.

Too pull the seal you have too pull the pump apart so I would get the rebuild kit, which doesnt include the seal, not expensive. Just make sure you get all the little "vains" back in just how they came out or it will never pump again, dont ask how I know

I assume its the "shaft" seal, if so, as I remember, all the guts of the pump have to come off to get it out, no?

No. Other than removing the pulley, no disassembly of the pump is necessary.

Ah, So the seal can be pulled out and replaced (after pulling the pully) without disturbing the inerds of the pump, which would mean you dont need to pull the back of the pump off? Good news, thank you.
