Another A/C Thread
Okay, I am a high school student and I get to drive an 84 300d to and from school for several years.
This car has been converted to R-134, and from what I'm reading here, this will not suit the purpose well as I will be driving very little over 30 mph. It should be mentioned that I live south of Houston, Texas. One alternative I have seen is Duracool. From their website, I see that they have a formula designed to replace R-134, but would it be as good as the R-12 replacement? Would any changes be necessary to use it? I know the basic principals behind A/C and understand basically how it works in this car, but I am not experienced here. At all. |

i swear to god use this. its much cheaper than r12 and it has the same pressures and works with ANYTHING that r-12 works with YOU DONT EVEN HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR OIL! (although i HIGHLY recomend it) i have this refrigerant called r420a its the best stuff i have ever seen in my entire life. the ONLY thing better than this stuff is r-12 r134 doesnt even come close to this. one thing you must remember is that this refrigerant is .5% nephtatic (meaning contains small amount of oil) and this will increase compressor life and quiet things down. if you have any questions you can email me at cervanz@gmail.com my father is a a/c technician its all he does he went to colledge for 5 years for all of the certs and stuff and he had me put this in my car and i was amazed. (my car is a 1981 240d round gm compressor) |

I assume that it will work in a r-134 system?
You didn't mention that at all... |
