Brake questions

I am replacing both front calipers and brake lines. Is it advisable to use locktite or other product on the mounting bolts for the caliper?
I know to only use DOT 4, but not the sythetic. Where, other than fastlane of course, can I get the non-synthetic Dot 4 fluid?

I only saw the synthetic. Is the use of locktite advisable?

What synthetic are you talking about? That valvoline stuff? That works fine in these cars.

I would think most auto parts places stock dot 4, I just picked up a gallon, $30

For sure, use blue locktit on those caliper bolts.

There is nothing wrong with using DOT4 synthetic. It's the silicone DOT5 you don't want. All brake fluid is synthetic anyway isn't it?

I've used PB Blaster on the upper brake line connection. I'm concerned about damaging the hard brake line. Any ideas about the removal of the upper brake line from the hard line?

That's ATE "Super Blue" which is chemically the same as their TYP200 in the amber color.

dot 4 vs dot 3

My copy of Haines says to use Dot -3. Does it matter?

Loctite is recommened on caliper bolts. DOT 3 good, just do not mix silicone? or synthectic, not compatible.
