W124's been wounded!! Don't let this happen to you!

I try to take pretty good care of my car, even when parking, I park 10 spaces away from other cars so morons don't dent my car with their car doors. I am also pretty good about not parking downhill, because there are a lot of stupid people out there who leave their shopping carts when they're done, and could care less about your car.

Yesterday, I was at Costco, park 10 cars away from others, on their slightly downhill parking lot. I go in for a slice of pizza, come out, and there's the HUGE dent in my car! I figured someone backed up into it, or accidentally hit a cart into it with their car, since it was dented so bad. Costco checked their videotape, and of course, it was "pointed in the wrong direction" when this happened, probably their code word for, we don't want anything to do with it.

Anyways, be careful where you park. LOOK AT THIS DENT!!

shopping cart.

Honestly, 10 cars away isn't far enough. I park as far back or as far to the side as I can. Yeah I have to walk but I don't have dents.
Also if your taking 2 spots you better be far away.

I have a little one in my door from what I think was a shopping cart. It happened before I got the car, so I have no idea. It's only really noticeable if you look for it.

I've got a much better dent right above the right taillight. My grandma backed into something in the garage or the edge of the garage door opening...I'm thinking the latter because there was a bit of white paint scraped onto the piece right behind the rear tire. It made a dent in the corner of the sheet metal that looks like somebody gave it a good whack with the ball end of a ball peen hammer. When I got the lock and window replaced by the body shop after the break in last November, they hammered out the dent and painted it to prevent further rust from forming. It doesn't look perfect, but from afar you couldn't tell.

That is a nasty dent for sure,,, gonna take some real skill to get that one straight. BTW,,, the parking away from everyone else just seems to draw these jerks to your car, just to pi$$ you off. I park right among the hoards as my wife does all the time in her 400,,, and we VERY seldom have trouble. I didn't say never.

Dent doctors to the rescue????

Many times dent doctors can remedy a bruise at far less cost that a typical body shop....plus they are usually faster. Won't hurt to get a quote.

The dent doctors are good but the dent has stretched the metal over the reinforcement which makes the repair a body shop deal. A skin, or even a door may be required.

If you need a new door, I'd suggest you get a junkyard door and get it painted to your color, probably significantly cheaper than having a body shop do it..

If you know of any reputable paintless dent repair shops, you might at least let them take a look, expressing the concern about possibly stretched sheet metal.

I was surprised at just how well a talented repair shop can make damage disappear, when I let one loose on the STI I owned.
