Injection timing problems with my 300D?

Well after getting the 300D out of storage for the first time with its first normal driving in Wisconsin from the trip from Florida last year i have found some problems...

My acceleration is horrible, I leterally have to put the pedal to the floor to get it going...

I have a feeling it has to do with the injection timing.

I say this because of the fact i have to put the pedal to the floor to get er going and when im done driving when i take the key out it still runs for at least 3 to 4 seconds.

Any ideas? I would like to get this problem figured out before i go and do a diesel purge to get my engine on the road to running in tip top shape.

Thanks in advanced for the help

Could certainly be IP timing...........or camshaft timing.

When were these last checked?

Run-on after key removal is a separate issue. There is either a small vacuum leak on the way to the shutoff diaphragm or the diaphragm itself is compromised. A Mityvac would make short work of the diagnosis.

Im quite embarrassed here to say this but in all reality im quite the noob here and for the year it has been in my name they have not been checked nor do i know when the last time they were checked while the owner in Florida had it.

I always do my own work on it unless it absolutely needs to be done by a pro, Are there any dyi tutorials on here on how to check the injection timing and camshaft timing?

Ill do a search in that section and post back if i find it..

Also i did check the diaphragm already and it didnt seem to have any problem with it. I never did check the line, Ill check that tommorow to.

I really do appreciate the help!

Well im going bump this and i guess there really isn't a problem just except with acceleration...

I did some 0-60 runs on a street in the boonies and i was getting just about 16 to 17 seconds which said is about the average time even with the slow acceleration.

Another quick question, Whats the normal RPM's at about 70mph?

Oh and another quick question, Wheres the best place to get some diesel purge online? I checked the local places today with no luck.

thanks again,
