Diesel Purge.........another success

crmont,

you are the man. I finally got a quiet weekend and I ran diesel purge through my 98 e300 turbodiesel with 150,000 miles
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=113596

AMAZING... simply AMAZING difference.

I have been *****ing and complaining here for nearly 2 years about an unexplained vibration at idle, rough idle, NVH, bad injectors, IP, injector pump, injector problem, etc. blah.

SOLVED!!!

one word of caution to add to your post. I did an oil change, air filter and fuel filter before the purge and killed my battery due to way too much air in the system. about 1 hour later my little brother showed up with some quality jumpers and his F250 and breathed life into my e300. people should change the fuel filter, restart the car, then set up your system with Diesel Purge.

we were discouraged and set it up to the stock fuel line configuration because I have to work tomorrow. then we decided to try one more time once the car was smoking and running again.

Just like your instructions. Solved all my issues with some 3/8 fuel line and 2 cans of Lubro Moly. Less than 1 minute of purge and the car runs like new. I can barely believe this was my car after I got it started again.
I GOTTA WRITE THEM A LETTER!!!!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!
EVERYONE SHOULD DO THIS REGARDLESS OF THE VINTAGE.
maybe every 25k miles to clean out the old gunk in your lines and injectors.

respectfully
PMU

There are those who say Diesel Purge is snake oil. I've had limited but good experience, so my mind remains open.

Last time I ran DP in my 300D it stopped the glove box from falling open over speedbumps.

It is amazing!

I feel it is another tool that has its place in your tool box.

Won't fix ALL inj problems, but won't hurt them or your IP either.

That takes DP beyond the "snake oil" realm IMO.

No sound on the movie

I tried to download the film clip, but there's only sound for the first 10 seconds or so. What am I doing wrong? I tried to load it twice. Is the movie clip messed up somehow?

I'm predicting the diesel purge will be a temporary fix that lasts a month. Helped my mom's 300SDL (rough idle when started, shot black smoke everywhere) but after a month it was back to its old antics.

I believe the DP will fix the problem if its cause is just crap on the injectors, etc. In the instances when the car goes back to its old ways there must be an underlying problem, maybe a bad nozzle or prechamber...

Running a tank of B20 worked just as well as DP had for me in the past.

What is B20, where do I get it, how often should I run it? It's not that red stuff by chance is it, that's supposed to be illegal to put in your tank is it?

Thanks,

Its biodiesel, available at many fuel stations, you just have to look for it. Its 100% legal on-the-road fuel, just like normal diesel, except 20% of it is soy fuel.

Biodiesel 20%. There is a pump in Alpharetta at a BP. Not sure of the specific location but I know thats on your side of town. You should really go to SA White and get B100. I paid 2.48/gal last week.

Diesel Purge vs Running VO

Hi, I've been wondering if running properly heated VO will duplicate the effects of diesel purge. It seems to be pretty efficient at removing deposits in the tank and fuel lines of my 300D (not to mention grease from my hands). Any thoughts/opinions?

yeah, i was considering going the diesel purge route but i've heard that running B100 (which is what i do most of the time anyway) is just as good...biodiesel is an excellent solvent that will break up the years of petro-diesel gunk in your tank...so when you start running high blends of biodiesel be sure to carry an extra fuel filter...it will also eat away at the factory rubber hoses...when i did my veggie oil conversion i changed all the fuel hoses to viton (sp?) except for the one running directly under the tank to the metal line...a few months later i noticed a puddle of biodiesel under my car...it was a quick fix but something to be aware of...

check out biodiesel.infopop.cc for more info on running biodiesel...
