I came across this listing the other day and thought it was worth an honorable mention:

$17,000 for a 300D, but not just any 300D, one that's flown in a 747!

He's even confused about what year the car is (or what year it is now?). The thing that drew me to the ad initially was the "2003 Mercedes 300D Turbo Diesel" heading, knowing that something was wrong there...then to find it's really a '83 with 145K...well that explains it.

Don't bother him with offers, as it says clearly in the listing...

maybe 17,000 for the plane but not the car.
when the license plates are bent that far under the car, it scares me.

I really doubt its a turbo. Someone call him and get pics from under the hood. I want to see which IP he has in there.

I'm guessing he didn't check book value before listing. Another car that will never sell at that price.

Maybe he meant $1700 - the whitewall tires are a nice touch.

There are delusional people who are absolutely convinced they have a one of a kind car that is worth every overpriced penny they are asking for it. I see them all the time though most are not as unrealistic as this guy.

There's no excuse for it today, I mean, you can find out in 5 minutes online what the car's worth. It's nowhere near $17,000, maybe $3,500-$5,000 so he's basically thinking...hey, so maybe there will be some equally delusional shopper who can't imagine I'm letting this baby go for only $17K!

Actually i would say it may not even be in the 3000-5000 bucks range. The dash is clearly severely warped which suggest that the car was not garaged all that much in summer. The Surf Blue color is nice though...

The front plate suggest a less that careful driver...

I dunno. I am willing to bet the upholstery and the carpets are like new and has protected them since the day it was bought. In 25 years going into the sun at the kroger parking lot on a hot day can cause "warping" like that. I dont see any cracks. Also in 25 years you *MIGHT* hit something with the front bumper no matter how careful you are.
