Engine and trans swap questions 115/123
Put this on the other forum but really haven't got a definitive answer yet.
Picked up a 1970 220D for parts and got a good running motor in the deal. It's a manual trans car but they lost the flex coupler and wasted the trans. Now I'm looking for a car to put the motor in. I did find a decent 1978 300D automatic car, siezed motor. Question is will the 220D motor bolt up to the 123 chassis and the auto trans? I'm still searching for another 115 chassis car but no luck so far. I really don't have room to store an engine but can't throw out something usable. |

Where are you located and how do you feel about a little body work in addition to engine swap?

Too bad, guess I'll keep going on my parting out attempts rather than get rid of her whole. Front damage issues but repairable.

It should bolt up. The oil filter is in a different location and may interfere though.
