'84 190d

I bought an '88 190E brand new in '88 so am familiar with the car but am looking at a 190D. What things should I look for/look out for in regards to the diesel? Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Randy Kasal

I would recommend the 2.5 ,it has more go from the start.I have owned both an 84 2.2 diesel and still have the 2.5 88 model .I sold my 2.2 84 after several years of ownership ,very dependable but had lack of power .I think youll be happier with the peppier 2.5 .Their was an issue with the vacuum pump on my 2.2 ,the bearing housing on the unit let go and wasnt working for a period of time when I purchased the vehicle ,just make sure its functioning when you make the buy.Youll know if its working if youve got power brakes ,good luck.
