240d exhaust manifolds - URGENT!

I'm in the middle of placing my OM616 in my 1967 Land Rover. I've run into a problem with the rear of the exhaust manifold... it conflicts with my bulkhead. Looking over some photos of a truck with a similar conversion, I noticed a manifold that has a centered outlet. Anyone know anything about this? Any variation in 240D manifolds over the years? Any other mercedes manifold with a centered outlet that will work on the 616?

THANKS!

I can't imagine one on a W-123. I wonder if the W-115 had them ever? Or could it have been a gasser.........

The motor used (the one I observed the different manifold on) is defintiely a 616. That's exactly what I was wondering... a 115 or gasser. If one would bolt up my world would be saved!

After a bit more looking, it looks like the manifold off a 190 has the centered outlet... would that bolt up to a 616 motor?

Look...

The old 190D uses an OM621. I'm not sure if it would work.

I know my 76 300d has a centered outlet. I think all w115's that I have seen do.

The older 240Ds had a center dump exhaust manifold. My '82 engine currently has a rear dump manifold on it, but I plan on replacing it with a center dump when I get the engine installed in my Jeep.

Thanks guys. I contacted the owner of that truck, and sure enough it is off a 115 220D. It sounds like I'm now on the immediate hunt! I'll run into town today to see what I can find. Such a rediculous project, so little time!

Thanks again!

Sounds like T walgamuth has what you need. I think all W123 240Ds had the rear outlet type.
