Listen to this 240D

I checked the compression, then set the valves, replaced all belts, hoses. Waiting on diesel purge to arrive in mail to do that procedure. Listen to this clip, and see if this motor sounds ok to you? It shakes quite a bit, just the motor, not the car, so Im wondering if mayber the motor mounts need replaced? Link to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJYUXwyybhw

The link’s not working – for me anyway.

Inspect the mounts to see if they are crushed or torn.

When I first bought my 79 I noticed the fuel hose at the primary filter was leaking down onto the driver side motor mount. It had totoly degraded and needed replacing.

First time 1-4,,,150,300,300,280.....Then I set the valves, and they were all tight, #1 was 290 and #4 was 310. I couldnt check the inside two as I broke my little swivel fitting that I used the first time, and couldnt get on them.

After I set the valves, I took it for about a 10 mile romp around the area, ran ok, but I think it ran as good if not better, prior to the valve setting. I do have some leaks at the injectors now, that I did not have prior to the valve setting. Could be the hoses, can't tell for sure.
