1985 300d rear diff gear ratio???

sweet i'ts going behind my 617 and 4 speed in a 240..

I hate how steep those original 3:6sometings are it sucks!it's like the first gear does not exist..

A 2.88 will have a painfully slow takeoff with a manual.

A 3.07 is a better match.

by the way

i used the driveshaft front section for 116 bod that's where i stole the 617 from No shortening required when you stick it in to 123 body w/617/4speed combo!!And smooth as butter no vibrations at all!!!!!!!!

ughh

I got an 1985 in my possesion and 2:88 and 3:07 is a pretty close close match!I'll keep you updated..

i did a 300d na with the 307 rear end and although it got 30 mph hiway it was too high for around town.

i recommend no higher ratio than the 346 used in the 300d na for a stick conversion. the higher ratios would be fine with an automatic but taking off is just to hard on the clutch.

what ratio is the diff on a 82 SD (auto naturally)..
what about a 190 2.6 (93) (auto)? and did they do anything special to the sportline ones when it comes to the diff?

the 82 sd is a 307 i believe.

not sure about sportline. i think it was suspension only package.
