Dim Dash light '84 300SD

1984 300SD
My dash light is very dim. The dimmer knob works, but at its brightest it’s still very dim. Is it the bulb or the dimmer knob or what? And how would I go about fixing it?

Any insight would be appreciated.

The dash lights are not the brightest to begin with. Does the brightness change with the twisting of the knob?

It does change when I twist the knob but even at the brightest its still very dim. Would a new bulb help? Are there brighter bulbs I can get?

Other bulbs are available, yet, be careful about the heat generated. There may be prism's near bulbs to reflect light, if they melt, low light. This place has something you might be interested in. http://**************.com Good luck.
