If I can't get it running reasonably easy, I plan on striping some parts from it for my 300D and getting rid of it. Actually, looks like the 300D might have to go also, looks like I just bought a 300CD. Just waiting for an e-mail response.

You got the car for approximately the price of a new set of Euro lights, which the car has on it already, so it's an absolute bargain, and if it can be made to run, so much the better.

There are no plates on it though, so hopefully you will receive a title with the car. You'll need one, in most states, to register it for the street. Also, many junkyards want a title if you decide to strip the car and deliver the carcass to them.

Try explaining that to the wife.:rolleyes: That's why I'm trying to have the vin decoded, to find out if the lights were original. Also, I like the chrome trim around the wheels (haven't seen many cars with them) On a brighter note I pick up my 300CD Thursday!

No diesel badge...could be a Euro car.

^^^good point, the euros didn't have "DIESEL" script on the right side of the trunk.

Also, if the car has cruise control, and the writing on it is in German, it's a Euro car for sure. The registered importers didnt bother to change them out to a US spec cruise control stalk, which would have had English writing on it. Not required, to pass EPA/DOT regs, and simply not worth the bother or expense.

COule just be de-badged. looks at the US bumpers

Also the Shut off it not on the IP, key factor in the Euro IP. its on the regular spot that the U.S.'s are

ALso, it doesn't have the snorkal on the air filter. it has the regular one
