W124 300d, wind noise, any advice?

I doubt wind noise can be completely eliminated, but just wanted to ask to see how much wind noise you all get on the highway. I get it through the doors and windows, and some through the sunroof.

The sunroof is a separate repair issue on its own. If I pop it up in the air vent mode then close it, I'll get a lot of wind noise. I actually have to then open the sunroof a bit, then close it, to get it back to normal.

Aside from the sunroof, I get normal wind noises in through doors and window seals, just thought I'd ask if I can do anything about it. The seals appear fine, and my guess is that if I replaced them, it'd be the same. They probably can't eliminate wind noises completely, but thought I'd ask.

When your car was new, I doubt that it had much wind noise. But now that it does, that means that wind is getting in somewhere. I wouldn't be so sure that the seals are not the culprit. I had a noise problem on my 123 300D, and I discovered that it was because my front passenger door had the wrong door molding for some reason.

Slight wind

Even in other cars I've owned, by any manufacturer, I've heard wind noise. I just want a very, very quiet car, and I think a Benz was probably designed to give that as much as possible. I'm thinking mine is normal as can be, but I sure would like it quieter.

Thanks,

jeff

take a piece of very thin cardboard like the width of a business card and shut the doors on it, trying all along it. if there are sloppy places it will whistle. ad justing the latch can often stop a lot of it.

sometimes new door seals are in order.
