The color of smoke and it's causes

Ok everyone,,, time to put are brains together and create a list of different color smoke from a diesel and what causes them. Please no repeats,,, don't need 100 people stating that black smoke is unburned fuel etc,,, Here goes. When you add to this list please quote the list from the previous post.

lack of air i.e. dirty air filter
too much fuel i.e. ALDA turned up too high




Greyish/White Smoke





Greyish/Blue smoke
Motor oil consumption from bad rings or valves





White smoke
water/antifreeze burning usually odor of antifreeze can be detected.

lack of air i.e. dirty air filter
too much fuel i.e. ALDA turned up too high




Greyish/White Smoke
unburned fuel at startup




Greyish/Blue smoke
Motor oil consumption from bad rings or valves





White smoke
water/antifreeze burning usually odor of antifreeze can be detected
