Monovalve problem

I recently had to remove my monovalve because my car sat for three years without being driven and the valve was shot, full of water and rusty with rotten rubber seals. Anybody know where I can get a new one besides my mercedes Benz dealer? I've just about tried everyone I know and have contacted Phil. 1983 300D TURBO

Yeah it looks like they've been out of stock over at wordpac for quite a while...I bet the dealer/MBUSA is the only place you'll find one.

I did find a place in Indiana that has rebuilt parts and they claim to have monovalve for me for $170.00 + shipping. Does this sound about right?

I know new ones are still being made for the SD, but they have 2 more ports than I do. I wonder if I could just block them off?

Normally, its just the rubber diaphram of solenoid that goes bad.... which you can get from a few places. I just got my 2 repair kits and just got done putting them in.

I went without it all winter. I just bypassed it and got heat all the time but that was ok since am in cold country....

I just checked with the dealer on the monovalve repair kit.

The good news: Kit is still available. Part number is 000-835-06-44.

The bad news: Kit is now $112. Was about $30 a year ago.

I did not check on the entire monovalve unit, as the repair kit is usually all you need, however I did buy a used one to keep for a spare.

Mono Valve Repair Kit

Here you go, the repair kit for under $80. They also have the complete mechanism if you need it.

I hope this helps

Thanks guys. I will need the entire monovalve since only the plastic housing is good on mine. water/coolant got into the solenoid through the rubber and it was frozen in place and full of rust. I guess I'll have to search a few wrecking yards and try nto find a good one I can rebuild. I did find a rebuilt one in Indiana for $170.00 plus shipping. The problem was my car sat for three years without being driven and it just didn't like it! The climate control box still works and the Ac blows cold now that I recharged it, but the center vents aren't working and cold air blows out the defrost and end vents only! CRAP! Looks like I'll be doing some digging around under the dash then.
