Sunroof/air vent problem

My sunroof works fine, and so does the pop up vent, but when I close the pop up vent, there's a lot of air noise. I have to then use the sunroof, open it a bit, then close it, to get the wind noise stopped.

Somehow or other the vent doesn't close 100%. It doesn't leak water or anything, but something's definitely wrong. Any ideas?

first off, it sounds like you have the dual motion (pops up in the back and slide back to open completely) There should be an adjustment for the proper closed position. A manual should would help here.

So the sunroof doesn't line up with the roof perfectly?

First I'd clean and lube it, see if that doesn't help. Also replace the gasket, they are usualy hard.

If that doesn't work stop using that feature, they tend to break after awhile...

I'll take a look, how hard to replace the gasket?

Pull the old gasket out, bang the new one in. I found I needed a peice of wood and a hammer to properly seat the new gasket.
