A friend of mine says he knows where there is a 300d 4 speed that I can have for free.Did they ever make a 4 speed.

Yes, there were manual transmissions on W123 euro spec cars and some of them were imported as gray market cars into the USA. The gray market was
very busy in 1984 and 1985 in the USA with respect to Mercedes cars, as the Deutschmark/Dollar exchange ratio made it extremely popular to import the new cars privately, even after the DOT/EPA conversion costs were factored in, you could save a lot of money buying a car this way, rather than buying from a Mercedes dealer.

It came from Sweden,I will look for the triangle.It is a nonturbo but it is a 4 speed.

Those probably have manual window handles.

You probably want to get it, and fix it up nice & then offer it for sale here...

1. If it's free, GRAB IT! Even if it's not a runner its profitable to part out even if you only sell one part.

2. If it has a 4 spd, GRAB IT those are rare and people want them.

When I got my 64 fintail, the guy was moving and didn't want to haul his project/parts cars, at the time I only took the fintail, as my home wasn't built yet and I was borrowing a yard to store it. I wish I had grabbed the others now, he had 5 more complete cars back there, looked like 115's and 123's at my uneducated guess on earlier body styles. I kick myself to this day for not snagging those.
