Fuel Leak At Injector - Not Fuel Hoses
One of my injectors is weeping fuel. Not much, but leaves a small softball sized puddle overnight. Searched the forms, and found that its almost always because of the overflow lines. Well I ran to BAP and got 2 feet of the braided lines, and replaced all lines. All are ok except the one injector still.
What else could cause this leak? The PO service records show all new injectors about 2 years ago. Also, there is some rubber around the injector itself - this was very brittle (maybe from the fuel) and came off. Could this rubber/plastic piece be a cause for this issue? Thanks!!! |

Unfimiliar with any rubber/plastic pieces around injector, any more specifics?, Having recently replaced nozzles, make sure all connections are tight. Any incorrectly installed heat shields would leak from the begining, as would injector sections, and lines. Give it a try anyway.

If you just replaced leaky return lines, it will take some time for the leftover fuel that is puddled around your injectors to disappear.
Same thing happened to me and I got all freaked out and thought my injector was leaking. After a few weeks, not more fuel puddled around the injector.

First get rid of the fuel around the injector.
You can use brake clean (on a cool eng.) and an air hose to blow it dry, or some sort of eng. cleaner and hose of with water and then an air hose. Then run and look for the leak. With any luck, your leak will be no more. Still leaking? It is probably between the injector halves. And yes the injectors can and will start leaking there at any time. Tightening will not help. |

Ok great thanks for the replies. I will leave it alone for a few days to see if things change, then re visit the issue if it continues.
