Anyone use Beck/Arnley timing chain?

I have been considering getting a new timing chain from one of the chain stores. Most seem to carry B/A timing chains for the 617. Anyone know whether these are to be trusted?

By the way they are priced at $50-65

I guess I'll try again. Still waiting to see what people think about this chain. Also, does anyone know of a oem source for less than $100.

ive used B/A's transmission filter on the 300SD. Along with some V-belts and recently an alternator for my dads 300D.

Havent had a problem with their products. All seem to be of good quality.

seems ok. But once at autozine they special ordered me the beck arnley thermostat gasket, and made me pay in advance to order it.. it was 4 bucks, and when it got there it was just a big rubber o-ring... not even the right gasket. I was peeved, but not near as peeved as when I told the employee that it was the wrong part and he just started at me blankly and goes "ok?" So i told him he should tell someone so that more 85 300D Turbo owners don't but the wrong thermostat gasket and he just said "Oh yeah, well it's programmed into the computer and there's no way anyone could possibly change that."

I just ate the 4 bucks for the sake of getting out of there and getting home.

didn't notice the price.. I was sort of leaning towards not replacing the chain especially if I have to buy a crimper for the belt links... but for 50 bucks plus the price of the tool I would be doing a lot better.. maybe I could even find the tool to rent someplace!

ETA:

Autozone couldn't even find it
Advance Auto has a part number but can't even special order it for me? (RC1003)
and of course NAPA is already closed but they seem to have it on their website.

The 'OEM' make chain is marked 'Jewis' on all its links....

The thickness of the 'bars' on which the rollers run are thicker than most other 'After-market' makes-The Jewis is a very robust chain....

The OEM chain from M.B. UK is around 85 quid, Thats 190 Dollars, ish.....

You pays your money and takes your choice....

Guess an 'After-market' chain would be OK, but consider it a 'service-replacement' item, say, Every 80K miles--I doubt many cheaper makes would last as well as the original make
