Looking for a thread that fixed the vac. system

I am looking for a thread that someone put on here about them removing some kind of black box on top of the VC that has a bunch of vac lines running to it. But I can not find it, (The thread had some pictures and drawing) is there a DYI that covers this and is it for my Diesel???
Just remember reading it and noticing how clean it made the car look afterwards. And something about putting a BB in a vac line to stop the EGR valve (DUMBIEST IDEA THE EPA EVER HAD AND STILL USING) from opening.

I want to do as many upgrades while I have the car down installing the tranny. So is there anything else I should do or look at while I'm at it???

Thanks Joe
