Better source for Mercedes OE parts?
My local dealer just quoted me $124 a piece for front door seals. $42 for the oil pan gasket. Yikes.
Is there a place where I can get this stuff any cheaper? I wish I could buy OE from Roy/Phil. I have been told repeatedly to only use OEM rubber and gaskets, especially for doors, sunroofs and windshields. Anyone found a better way?

MB Parts
Hi there,
I get my stuff throught www.germanstar.net I believe I bought front door seals from them for about $68 bucks a pop a couple of years ago. They are not cheaper on everything, but I've never seen them be more expensive either. Just this week I bought a new oil pump for my 240D for $158.00. My local MB dealer wanted $468.00!!!!! Anyway, I am not affiliated with Germanstar in any way, they've just saved me a lot of cash, so I am giving them my hearty recommendation! CHeers, Chris |

For OE parts:
Fastlane, which is the sponsor of the forum, also sells OE parts. However, they are not in the online catalog and you'll need to call Phil directly to place an order. (1-888-333-4642) Last edited by Brian Carlton; 04-13-2007 at 05:38 PM. |

Rusty sells OE/dealer parts at wholesale pricing - 800-741-5252, or email 'rusty@***************'. For items that have an aftermarket equivalent, make sure you specify you want the OE/dealer item, not OEM.

Call Phil he CAN get OE. You just have to call him, Or Email him and let him get you the price.
Second for $35 a year join MBCA. Dealers usually have discount prices for MBCA members. Here in the DFW area Park Place Mercedes gives wholesale prices to MBCA members. All month long at the Dallas location. The last week of the month at Mid-Cities location. Caliber Motors in Anaheim Ca. also gives wholesale prices to MBCA members. Use Phil and for those Mercedes only items the club membership helps. Dave

Thank you
Thanks for the input...Im very happy to know I have some viable alternate options.
My local dealer just doesn't treat me all that well either, especially on the phone. I mean I'm not hard to deal with, I even give them the PN#'s from my own EPCnet research. In understand that I'm small fodder, but come on...

I have trained 3-4 here in the DFW Park Place Mid-Cities Dealer. Bring the parts book and the knowledge that you have the correct info. I have at times, Politely told them to check with the boss. The price is sometimes not done correctly and you can help them learn. I had a custom account number at ******** in Plano so I would get the correct price ( went to that dealer 19 years). But be patient. There trying to learn 30-40 years of production models and a whole new system. Our local dealer does not get a lot of W123 requests. Thank God the parts girl has a W123 so I help her with information. Become their friend and help them. If they do not know something ( and the won't ) be an advocate not a PITA. You will teach them something. Caliber Motors is pretty good. You pay for shipping but no taxes. So the shipping/taxes thing is a wash. But you get wholesale. Dave

Where does one get an EPC for their particular model Mercedes. (for example, W123, circa 1980 and 1985)

I highly recommend Duval as well. The great thing about the trademotion back end that these guys (and a few others) use is that it shows you the MSRP on the part as well as your price. You get to know pretty quick how much your local dealer is marking you up not just on their wholesale price, but on the MSRP price.
I used caliber for a while but kept getting wrong parts - even when I gave them the part numbers. One thing to keep in mind with Duval is that there can be a price difference between using their browse/drill down parts catalog (which is very limited) and just entering a part number. Entering a part number is the way to go. Don't even bother with browse feature. Mercedes has an online EPC which goes by yearly $20 subscription or a $3 month subsription. It is a java application and works well, even with Macs. It might be the best $20 I have spent on my car.

I have used some of the already listed sources.....
I just wanted to mention Performance Products... http://www.performanceproducts4benz.com/default.aspx
Most of the stuff that I have gotten from them has been OEM.....but I have asked on the phone before ordering.....I also find their catalog to be quite helpful..... Roy/Phil also can get some OEM stuff....you have to ask!! SB
