Heater / AC questions?

I have heat all the time in the cab and just wanted to know if I could fix it like I did my Ford truck. Two manual ball valves, one in the hose out of the block and one in the hose before going back into the cooling system? Just shut them off for the summer, but open and run a little every oil change?

Yeah you can do all that but why don't you repair the monovalve and fix it right??

The monovalve plunger maybe bad. It can be repaired. I would do that rather than the rigging you suggested.

Well this is my thinking. I am running WVO and using coolant fluid to heat the oil. I plan to use an aux. coolant pump for the extra hose and coolant. I am thinking that the $35 for the mono repair kit can be cut down to about $8.00 and keep the added aux. pump form wearing the new mono valve.
Thanks for the reply and answers. Like I said, North Florida, I only need to use the heat a few months per year.
