Alarm?
Yesterday my friend wanted to open my car and when he unlocked it and opened the door, the ALARM went off. It is very loud and annoying, I had no idea how to turn it off, so I just drove off a bit, and finally my brother tried locking and unlocking the car from the passenger side door. And the alarm went off. Does this mean that I should always just open my car from the right side? I have no idea? Any ideas? My car is an 85' 300D.

Find out what model it is, get and see if you can get a remote and have it learn it.. Not having to use the key or open the back door to lock the car is very nice

I'd fix it. The alarm in my SDL saved the car from getting a lot of damage by vandal's.

Usually you can silence an alarm by reinserting the key in any door or trunk lock and turn from unlock to lock then back to unlock.
Probably what happened in your case was the key was not turned far enough to disengage the alarm or it was turned too fast. Also I agree with the prior poster that it would be smart to remove it if its aftermarket.

alarm location
At least on my 84 300sd the alarm brain is under all the passenger footwell carpet - keep pulling stuff back (floor mat and what's under the floor mat)and you'll see it. I want to say mine was made by becker? Just unplug the module to disable
