Oil in Vacuum lines
I plugged the lines going to the two yellow door lock lines as a temporary solution to my door lock issues. When I did this I found oil in the lines.
My understanding is this is usually caused by a faulty vacuum diaphragm. My questions are... how do I test this? Also when I bought the car i found a brand new MB shut off valve in the trunk. Could this have something to do with the oil in the lines... indicating the PO knew about th issue? How should I proceed to diagnose the issue and get the oil out of the lines? By plugging the door lock lines have I reduced the space the oil has to travel thereby causing issues with other vacuum lines that will become more plugged because oil doesn't have as far to travel?

If you have oil in the door lock line it's probably caused by a leaky check valve on the vacuum pump. It's right where the main vac supply line attaches to the pump. Your shut-off valve may still work great, but it may be leaking a little oil as well. If you pull the ignition vac line off the shut-off valve and see oil then it is leaking oil. Which can eventually cause a problem. If the lines are clean then you don't need to worry about it.

It can also be a failed diaphram in the shutoff valve on the back of the IP.
Happened on my wagon. Went to the keyswitch first, then on from there. {and down on my leg } Pull the brown line off the back of the IP and have a look in it.
