identify oil ports?!
Well this is a bit of a silly question, but can someone ID the oil outlet and return ports on the block of a 616 out of a 240D. I have an adapter block made up and am running a remote filter set-up for my application, but can't tell which is which by looking at the removed stock oil filter stand.
Thanks! |

I hate to bump, but I have to mention this is urgent! Running oil lines is the last thing I have to do before I can try to fire this thing up!
Any direction would be much appreciated! |

Thanks for the pic. Without a key, it looks like the bottom port (engine block side) is the return and the one towards the top portion is the outlet (into the filter)??? Does this sound right?

ha! That's the adapter that I'm using that Jim made up for our landie conversions. THANKS for the pics, FI. I'll go with that then... according to your pics, I'll use the port located upper left as the outlet and the bottom left port as the return back to the motor, post filter and cooler.
Thanks again |

I don't understand how you will incorporate the oil coler thermostat in this setup.
Also, I don't know if it matters in a new setup, but the original setup sent dirty oil to the cooler (pre-filter) heres another link... http://rbk3.com/mbz/tsm/MBZ18-005%20OIL%20SYS.pdf
