Valve adj. on '80 300SD, tranny clunk.
 

Looking for a thread on valve adjustment on my 1980 300SD. I used to have a good printout from the net on adjustment.

Plus I've noticed the transmssion shift kind of hard from 2 to 3, is this just an adjustment or the sign of something more serious.

Pretty straight forward. Intake nonturbo, .10mm(.0039in) Exhaust .30mm(.0118in), this is from the Haynes manual. Biggest trouble I had was getting cam cover off and back on while keeping gasket in place. If you can, take photots os the various linkages needed to remove. I have print outs, you'll have to e-mail me.
