mystery of the day...how are these guages related?
This morning several of my guages quit working. I changed the oil last night and sprayed some de-greaser around the engine bay and sprayed it all down.
What died... Fuel guage dead, temp guage dead, tach dead, brake waring light dead. What works... Clock works, oil press works(mechanical I assume), all other warning lights work, high beam light, glow plug light, battery light, turn signals, HVAC system, Speedo (OK, it's a cable ) I assume I probably got a relay or fuse either wet or shorted out....but it seems strange that some dash items quit while others keep working. I can picture the Tach, fuel & temp all sharing a power source. But the brake waring light is throwing me off How is the brake waring light connected with the other three guages? Or mear coincidence? I'm not the first to wash their engine and loose guages.

Check your fuses and connections. A little moisture can help with loss of connection and expansion of corrosion.
