need some surgical advice 85 300sd
OK, I understand that I have to pry the horn cover off the steering wheel in order to get at the steering wheel nut. But where do I pry? 12 o clock, 2 o clock, 6 o clock, etc. I figure I have but one chance to do this correctly so I don't bugger up the horn assembly. ANY constructive help is appreciated!!

The horn is not actuated by the cover, feel free to pry at any o'clock, just be gentle and use a tool with a broad blade, medium size screwdriver works for me.

You can also pull the pad off by hand. Grab the edges and pull it over the lip.

I've always just pulled the little star center piece out, it's only pushed in. This provides direct access to the sterring wheen nut.
