Question It's that time of year.....what kind of wax do you folks use??

G'mornin' Folks,
Spring is here, and I am cleaning up and detailing my car. I got to wondering what y'all use to wax your 21+yo MB paint? I was just looking at the Performance Products catalog and they offer all sorts of stuff.....but at a hefty price.....would like suggestions that can be found at local Auto Parts or Discount Stores......

If I were to wax my 300td, I'd use Meguiar's #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax, which is what I use on my other cars. If you can't find that at a "regular" auto parts store, you can surely find it at an auto body supply house.

If your car has a nice finish (which unfortunatly my benz doesn't) I would use Zaino. I use it on my Prius, unbeleivable shine, kind of pricey too but lasts for months. I use it once in the spring and once in the fall and water beads the whole time. http://www.zainostore.com/ Not available at your local store but will be delivered to your door!

I prefer conventional waxes myself, and have had good luck with Zymol products as well as Griot's Garage products.

Zaino (on a Porsche 911) was the worst waxing experience I've ever had, and customer service was as poor as the product -- they wouldn't even honor their moneyback guarantee. I wouldn't touch the stuff again.

Cheers, John

Thumbs up

Meguiars works well for me. I try to clay bars the cars yearly too, polish, then glaze... lastly a few coats of wax.

I use Maquires but it doesn't seem to last very long.

I never heard about this clay bar stuff until I came here. Can someone explain how this works and how it's used?

How do you polish. I guess it must be electric. Doing it by hand would be a chore!
