Need New Ignition Key, Help Please

I need a source for a new 124 ignition key, dealer a 2hour round trip.

Any sources for a new OE key? Any dealers (prefer "midwest") recommended that will ship?

Thanks.

Man, I don't know why I waited so long, almost too long, today it took a few minutes of massaging the key and talking nice to get it to turn, ... once I found the removal procedure it was about a 5minute job to pull the lock!!

Now I need a new set of keys as soon as I can get them. I think the lock is okay, no parts fell out, just a really really worn key (PO probably hung every key he ever owned from the keychain).

You could buy a whole new lock cylinder while your at it. Especially for the price that MB dealers want for a new key replacement. I let mine get bad just like yours -- in fact i had to drive a gas car for a couple days before my cyclinder came in ! God forgive me !

But seriously, a key that is worn out that bad has certainly taken some time to get there. And a new cylinder comes with a set of keys. Check online for prices -- not the dealer. A $40 fix for me.

Love to just buy the lock and keys from Fastlane, but I want the locks to match.

Any on-line sources for OE keys PLEASE?

I'd have to ask the dealer in Parkersburg, WV if they would ship it out to ya.

New Tumbler

If your key was hard to turn, the tumbler could be toast. A new key wont help this...it may make it worse since the new key will be a tighter fit.

Just a thought - you could get a whole new tumbler assembly from MB, with matching keys to your VIN. I bet you could order one through Duval Motorcars in Florida if Phil here at mshop cant get one for you.
