it looks like an honest car.

but...

the sellers statement about the speedometer seems a little disingenious. i would assume it has MORE than the 250k shown not less.

the turbo motor is almost certainly not original.

it looks like the basis for an extensive project, not a prospect for good reliable transportation as is.

not worth much more than the desired opening bid imho.

Pretty rare for one of the gray market W123 wagons to come with headlight wipers on them. Some of those late model W123 euro cars came with very interesting options, such as rear seat crank windows, ABS, armrest delete, rear seat headrests and the like.

It'd be worth it for a real W123 diesel afficianado to fix up, if sold for a low initial price, and the body is accident and rust free.

Those W123 diesels (Especially the wagons) are relatively hot in the market these days, with the interest in biodiesel and alternative fuels so high.

I disagree. I recently bought an 84 euro wagon and it too is a turbo. The VIN gives it away. 123 19"3" indicates a turbo 617.952 engine.

I thought he meant the car is on its second engine. Also, I think the seller meant to say it says 250 kilometers on the speedo and he is guessing there are about 150,000 miles on it.

It's a nice wagon, but I always get nervous when the odometers stop and the Seller has to guestimate it's approximate. Normally, that guestimate weighs in the Seller's favor, for some odd reason.

Its the front valence. The US cars have the same piece, but you can't see them because the bumpers are larger.

It is missing the plastic vanes between the bumper and the valence though.

a incorrect instrument cluster was installed because it does not have a Tach. just the old plain clock with a turbo engine is not correct. looks nice, just has lots of little but costly bugs that needs fixing.

forget the cruise working. the tach is needed I believe. nice seats! wipers too! with the list of problems, I will be surprised if it goes above 2K.

Forget the cruise working, because its not there! It probably never was.

The seller admits that the instrument cluster was replaced. I own an 84 euro turbo wagon that never had a tach on the dash, but does have cruise control.

I keep trying to run the VIN the seller lists, but it won't come up.

Here are the VIN reports from my euro 84 turbo wagon and and US 85 turbo wagon (for comparison purposes). Note that they both list tempomat (cruise control) but only the US lists a revolution counter (tachometer).
