Odd Water Leak

I have a strange water leak - thought I fixed it but I guess not.

Originally, I had water dripping down the parking brake (and getting on the carpet on the left side of the driver's footwell) and water pooling under the front passenger seat.
For the parking brake, I was pretty sure it was the windshield so I got some 3M windoweld and recaulked the sucker (eventually I will probably get a new windshield and replace the seal, but not now). That stopped the water coming down the parking brake (pretty sure it did anyway - I might be wrong).

However, the parking brake drip apparantly wasn't the only source of the water on the driver side carpet. Somehow it is soaking the front of the vertical strip, starting from the footrest (that plastic piece on the left) and for about a foot and a half back.

It is hard to describe the position of the water, so if this is not clear, let me know. I'll just get pics and circle the area.

How could this water be getting in? The plastic grille on the hood?

I am also fairly sure that water is no longer pooling under the passenger seat, but I haven't been able to check thoroughly.

So far, I have:
used vacuum line to make sure the front two sunroof drains are clear
cleaned out the in-hood drains (both hinge drains and fender drains)
checked for rust holes under battery tray (some minor rust, but not penetrated. Now covered in rubberizing rust stop)

You may have to consider the windshield seal. If it's hardened and shrunk from age it will tend to leak.

I remember someone finding water entering from the screws(rivets?) that hold
the inner wheel well plastic shield on.

Sorry for being unspecific there - I recaulked the windshield seal.

As for the rivets, the water is getting in just with the car sitting in the driveway, so I dunno.

I'll try to make some things certain tomorrow when I can check under the passenger seat, etc.
