1985 300D Turbodeisel Throttle pressure

The accelerator pedal in my '85 seems to require excessive pressure to depress. My ankle will actually become sore pushing it down after about a half hour of driving. Is there some way of adjusting the tension ? All the ball joints have been lubed and all parts move freely. Any ideas /tips? Thanks ,Jim B.

i suggest using your cruise control.

mercedes throttles tend to require a firm effort to hold the pedal down.

you should check if you havent already all pivot points. there are wear points that might affect this situation.

My 85 seems stiff too. I am starting to get used to it though...soon my right leg will be extra muscular!

Shouldn't be stiff at all. My 85 is extremely smooth after lubing the throttle linkage sockets with grease. Naturally it wont be as easy to depress as a electronic fuel injection car but it shouldn't be hurting your legs.

All things are relative, greasehopper. If you're used to a gasser, there is a difference. My sister drove my CD back with me buying the 240, she mentioned how hard it was to depress the throttle.
