I drove home on Diesel Kleen!!

While driving a new to me 124 home from work the other day the reserve light came on. Remembering that I had read here the reserve is 2.5+/- gal. I continued on as I only had about 25 miles to go. You guessed it, about 10 miles later So there I sat 15 miles from home, empty. The needle had not reached the line where the R is. I guess now I know where "empty" is After sitting there a few minutes and debating wether to call my wife or AAA, I remember I had a gallon of Diesel Kleen in the trunk So I poured the gallon into the tank, after filling the fuel filter of course. Turned the key and it started right up! Ran for about 30 sec and died Hoping that it was just an empty primary filter and fuel lines I began cranking. After a total of about 4 mins. of cranking in 30 sec bursts it started. To make a long story short it ran great for the rest of the way home

You can do it with new engine oil, vegetable oil, power steering fluid, any number of things tbh

That would have been a great time to dump in a bottle of injector cleaner! No need to put the hoses in a bottle...

I found out the same thing, on the interstate, reserve light does not come on, as the gauge did not drop that far, Christmas morn 3:30am. Oh joy. Ins. towed me home, got it straightened out.

Talking

I once got stuck on empty on the way back from getting Chinese take out.

Usually I have 2-5 gallons of WVO in the trunk, but I was out from the last time I ran on empty.

Instead of waiting for AAA I poured in 1 QT of WOnTon SOup and 1 Qt of vegetarian Hot & Sour soup that I filtered through my T-shirt.

I made it home no problem, but I did miss having Hot & Sour with my MU SHU.
