Thumbs up Just saying Hi

Hi, I've been lurking for about a month around here now. I'd like to introduce myself: I'm an 18 y.o. student from maryland, going to attend UMD college park next year. I needed a car to drive to college and back, so I sold my 93 240SX and 81 Volvo 242, and bought an 84 300SD.

Here it is the day I got it:

The good:
150k miles
new tires
no rust
runs well
good alpine stereo (it has even subwoofers , for comparison my volvo had no stereo and the 240 had 2 speakers )

the bad:
A/C is toasted

So far I've changed the oil (whooooooo), adjusted the valves, cleaned the banjo bolt, cleaned up the car a lot. It's not as nice as the cars I see here, butI got it for $1700, and it even passed MD inspection without me trying to bribe anybody . So far I'm very happy, seems like a very solid car, especially after my tin cans.

Cheers!

Welcome!

Looks like a nice car. Welcome to the forum. Much good information here. Mercedes built these cars so they can be taken apart and repaired, they're great. Enjoy your new ride and your college years. You'll remember these four years for the rest of your life so take lots of pictures and write down the names of all the girls.

How is this technically related to Diesels?

How is this technically related to Diesels? Might we be tying up unnecessary Bandwidth by posting this?

Just kidding. Welcome to the Friendliest and Best Forum on the Internet.

I have always had a philosophical feeling that this Forum is much more than just a place for technical dissertations.
