trans modulator setting 81 300D

Does any one know where the modulator is set at from the factory? like so many turns clock wise? I installed a used trans in a 300D that i bought. in the process of trying to get it to shift right I lost track of how many times I turned the modulator.I know your suppose to keep track of that. I ended up replacing the switchs on the valve cover and now I would like to get the modulator back to the orginal setting and start from there again.I`ve got it to shift better but it`s still not right. Shifts to late. Thank`s Rick

The modulator is set with a pressure gauge on the port adjacent to the adjustment knob.

I don't know it offhand. But, there's some data about it on the forum somewhere.

If its shifting late, turn the bowden cable out 1 turn to make it shift earlier.

specs

Ideling in P (warmed up), vac line unplugged should give the 3.0 bar (for the USA version).
On the 1st scan the upper tranny is yours.
This is hydraulic pressure. Unscrew the plug (M8x1) near the modulator and attach the hollow screw with gauge.
The 3rd scan is for the 722.3 tranny and uses the lower tranny for locating the ports, just in case someone else might use this.

its similar to the fuel line connection to the fuel filter but smaller (M8x1).
I got mine from automatic lubrication stuff of machines or trucks.
The gauge is pneumatic stuff.

Tom

I believe you can use the hollow screw into the ALDA!
