Headlight Assembly W123 vs W124
I know that I'm probably not the first one to think of this....BUT....has anyone tried to fit W124 headlight assemblies into a W123?? From photos it looks as if the dimensions are very close, unfortunately I don't have ready access to a W124 to check this out.....

Following what has been said, ... the 201 lights are slightly more upright, but not as tall. Also, the 124 and 201 are angled back toward the sides more than I think the 123 is (I don't have a 123).

w123 and w116 headlight are perfectly vertical and perpendicular to the length of the car. It's gonna take a whole lot of fabrication to even come close to fit a W124 or W126 headlight (these have a compounded angle plane both backwards and outwards).

Like the others have said, the angle of the headlights on a 124 appear to be highly incompatible (or at least would be very weird looking) on a 123.
Aren't they narrower (from grill edge to turn signal) than the 123 too?

Since I have both....
W123: 15x8 inches, 3 degrees off vertical
W124: 14x8 inches, 20 degrees off vertical (these are Euro lights that I installed) You could get the 124 lights in the 123 chassis but getting the tilt adjusted so that the lights worked and looked good would be difficult. The 123 picture was taken in the garage and the 124 outside so there are some significant lighting differences. Live with it, OK? Jeremy
