Brian, do you have an A/C DIY for 82 300SD?

went through the kilma thread you helped with, and kinda want something similar to check out why my a/c won't work on my SD.
did a search using google even and found nothing.
so what should I check with a meter, etc. what to bypass for testing etc.
Thanks!
John

Don't really know what you are looking for. I guess step 1 is to see if the compressor clutch pulls in when you activate it via the climate control. If not, by pass the high side switch on your receiver/drier and see if it cuts on. That would be a start. You could have a bad climate control unit, high side switch, or no freon in the system keeping the compressor from cutting on. You also could use a set of gauges if you really wanted to know what was happening. Or you could take an easier route which is what I did. If the compressor cuts on (letting you know its good), replace your expansion valve, receiver/drier, add oil, pull a vacuum and recharge. You just overhauled your system.
