Cruise control not working
I am slowly fixing everything. Is the cruise control amp in the circular metal garbage can in the actuator ? What are some basic tests I can run?

Do you have a vacuum-operated cruise control? I though Mercedes had switched to an electric one by 1983.
In your car, the cruise amp should be in a rectangular metal can under the dash, on the driver's side. See this link for tests: http://gdl-online.com/test023.html See many other threads (use the search function) for other things you can do.
