There is a new clear coat product. It is NOT epoxy so it will not turn yellow with sun exposure.

It cures fast and you can spray several coats professionally. The clear coat is super hard.
I plan to use this for my rims. I will make a thread to advise wheel people.
Product:

Spray MAX 2K (2 part) rapid cut-in spot clear coat.
Part no. 3 680 062

the activator is inside the spray can. Once you release it, the stuff is good for 24 hours. So, that is how much time you have to spray your wood, rims etc.

cost: $20 per 12OZ can. Spray gun like results.

"Spray MAX 2K" is the trade name, Pete? Where'd you get it?

I've got two Zebrano wood consoles on my bench I'll try to restore soon. The dash wood in both my 300D's is fine other than the pushbutton panels are bowed to pull away (typical). A few years ago, I picked off the crazed surface of a console and found the wood was sound and it was just thick varnish which was lifting. I was too aggressive and gouged it too much to refinish since my plan was to cover it with Zebrano vinyl (ebay), which I did. But, I thought I could have sanded it and refinished w/ varnish. So, I'll try that.
