606 delivery valve springs

See photo below. Since WIS suggested replacing the delivery valve springs, I had ordered new ones before several of you said that the old ones could be reused. Anyway, the ones I got are shown on the right. The old ones are shown on the left. Surely these springs cannot have changed this much could they? The part I ordered was 000 017 19 17 according to WIS.

I reused the old ones and copmpleted the job this morning. Still priming the system. I'll report back the results later in a post I started several weeks ago.

I believe that is the compression spring that is installed between the cam follower and the delivery valve. I'd hold on to them until the IP needs rebuilding.

Hi Len,

The correct PN for the DV springs is 000 074 37 93. Those springs you got are for the injectors themselves, they looked at the wrong diagram in the EPC (Page 5/8 which shows the injector instead of Page 2/8 which shows the delivery valve).

I'm sure reusing the old ones will be just fine anyway.

Thanks Marty - yep, it was you I was referring to when I said that I realized after I ordered these that I could likely reuse the old ones. If Duval made the mistake, I may send them back. Otherwise I'll hang onto them or put them on e-bay. I just looked at the EPC again and the mistake was mine. I was looking on the wrong page. However, I don't see the delivery valve springs shown at all on page 2/8 of my EPC. I see the price for them in the parts list using your number, but can't find them in my EPC.

The spring is item #101 on Page 2/8. Can you see that item number?

A tip on priming the fuel system that helped another guy was to raise the rear wheels while cranking the car to let gravity feed the fuel to the lift pump better. This helps most if your tank is less than 1/2 full when you are trying to prime it.

Well...there's the problem...I guess my EPC is some sort of pirated euro version, as it has parts listed on it which some US and other versions don't. I attached a copy of my Page 2 so you can see what I see.

Interesting - that whole left side from 95 to 122 is not on mine, although I have to look and see if there is another version on my CD. I am using the US version for my VIN number.

On another note, how do you take a screen shot and paste it in a message? I've wanted to do that a few times and can't figure out how.

Prt Scr usually makes a screengrab. Then just open your art application, paste it in, and make it fit for an attachment here.
