AL129X Alternator question
I was wondering if this is the AL129X. it looks similar from the back as in pictures i have seen, and behind the pully it looks the same. the thing that is throwing me off is the red band in the middle. it came off a saab of the correct time period and model.

I am guessing there is no model # on it anywhere? how big is it (diameter) ya might try posting a picture.

I believe the 129x is over 6" in dia...

it is the AL124X i found it on a different site. an 80amp model. which is a 45% increase over the 55amp model. i am not installing a huge sound system or anything just want a bit more available power for things like a plug in cooler or an mp3 player or both.

ok i will do a diy. i talked to the pnp that i got it from and they are going to let me look for the AL129X and if it is there exchange it for me.

what size is the allen bolt that attaches the AL129X on the saab 900?

ok i got the AL129X out of the saab. what should i use to clean it up. PS fluid poured all over it and i am not sure that it should be run in that condition.
