Glow plug relay/timer
 

Would anyone be interested in an adjustable time GP relay for the 617?
I've been thinking about gutting my W116s defective relay and replacing the circuit with a 30 sec to 3 min adjustable timer and five LEDs showing current flow to each glow plug. This will make troubleshooting and locating a defective GP as simple as looking at the relay. I figure if we have enough interest I'll check on having some PCBs made up.

See if you could add one more LED for us 603 drivers.

As a matter of fact...

A few yrs ago we had a mouse at the shop where we did a lot of electronic stuff. I took a piece of metal mesh layed it on the floor and suspended a hoop of two turns of bare copper wire about one half inch above centered on the mesh. Then slid a potato chip between the two turns. Next we connected a large electrolitic capacitor, positive to the hoop and negative on the mesh then charged it to 450V.
I remember getting a call from the alarm co that night. It seems the "discharge" set off the alarm. :D
No more mouse.



Four, five or six LEDs. Whatever it takes.

I did the same thing with an electrolytic at about 2400MF/500volts hoping to catch a rodent eating my cats food. I did keep the cat in my bedroom for the night and in the morning, viola, one cooked weasel! Worked great using peanut butter for bait.
