Howe's fuel additive... for a bad prechamber - WOW!
An old diesel hand here locally ( actually a young biod researcher did as well) advised me to try some Howe's additive in the fuel to help with the "bad prechamber" ( its undiagnosed as of yet).
Now, I'm not a snake oil guy. But since I'd like to drive the car for the summer months before I tear into it again, I tried some MMO. No noticeable improvement. still smoked. Still missed badly once the GP's shut off on a cold start, etc. So I finally was passing a Flyin' J on a biz trip and stopped in. I bought the darker blend ( not advertised as anti-gel). HOLY SMOKES! ![]() Its just a stop gap until I have time to work on the engine. Right now I'm using it as a daily, which is kind of making me feel like a poor boy..?? Oh well,, money is staying in the bank...! Oh, and the milage badge from MBZ showed up! Cool! Anyway, I dont want to start a discussion, but if you have the hard start, rattle on acceleration, possibly PC issue which I read is common with 220K on the enigne, Howe's defintely, unequivically works. Gave that lil black gal an overdose on the first tank, and now I got her hooked on the stuff! ![]() |
