an old topic 124 A/C

Ok I have a problem. The previous owner supposedly had the evap job done. However I notice a problem. Depending on conditions or whatever the compressor will cut off. If I cycle the ignition the compressor will usually come back on. Maybe for 20 minutes maybe for 5. It blows cold. Is this a low charge, cut off sensor malfunction or the climate control unit? My gut says the climate control unit but I don't know.
