Mystery linkage
1983 240D automatic
What does this linkage do? (if anything) Its connected to a component I'm afraid I'm not familiar with (someone clue me in here) but it appears to not actually do anything for that component as the linkage arm connected to it is just freespinning. Seems like I could take out two linkage pieces and not lose any air/fuel delivery functionality

Are you looking at the Cruise Control actuator that
pulls the rod to keep the throttle open when cruise is engaged ? And.... why are you looking to disconnect things ? Just curious, is there a problem we need to solve ?

Ah, cruise control actuator, that makes sense now
Still kinda weird the arm connected to the CC actuator just swings freely I am adjusting my entire linkage system as there are several problems. Not enough pedal travel and there is play on the IP linkage and the linkage connected to the air box. Its making an already slow car into a TREMENDOUSLY slow car. Figured if perhaps these linkages weren't necessary I could just take them out and make life easier. I suppose I could since my cruise control isn't working anyway but I have hopes of repairing it someday....somehow
