Rubber hose @ alda- need new clamps
This hose needs to be replaced. the metal tape is covering a rip.
I cannot get the clamps off without mutilating the clamps. I cannot find a part like these anywhere. Hardware store small hose clamps wont work. the base on the clamps is too wide, when tight- the clamp isn't circular- more like a U with a straight top. Notta-good seal. What is this type of clamp called? Anyhow- Thanks in advance.... http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1152/...2a60fd4e1b.jpg |
You would probably have better results finding spring hose clamps like these:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Two_spring_Hose_Clamps_-_small.jpg

Thanks....
I'm still searching. |
I hate to suggest this because it's probably more bother for him than it's worth, but Phil might be able to get those for you...

How many do you want? :-)
http://store.nutsandbolts.com/clamps-hose-spring-action-auveco.html I've seen the spring hose clamps in Lowe's, Home Depot, Do-It-Yourself Home Centers....Auto parts stores of all kinds. Were only talking about ~10 psi. |
i have a few if you need some but try this first. pull the hose off, then grab the end of the threaded part with small channel locks and spin the whole clamping part with your other hand. this broke mine free and did not damage the threads.
